Founded in 1984, TADA! Provides young people from different backgrounds with musical theater programs that inspire them to be creative, learn, and think differently. TADA! produces original musicals for children, teens, and family audiences. TADA! also offers free, year-round, pre-professional training and a positive youth development program for its Resident Youth Ensemble (ages -18). In addition, TADA! offers musical theater classes and camps for the public and musical theater residencies in NYC schools and community centers.
“I’m thrilled to be honored by this wonderful, enduring youth theater,” Ms. Uggams says. “Children are our future, and it’s vital to engage them in the kinds of positive, creative, diverse, and confidence-building experiences that TADA! provides. It will be a great honor to share the stage with the legendary Tommy Tune and bring heightened exposure to what TADA! does for the youth of New York.”
