On Thursday, February 9, 2023, Netflix premieres the intergalactic family adventure MY DAD THE BOUNTY HUNTER for global distribution. Created by the Academy Award winning writer/director Everett Downing of Hair Love and animator Patrick Harpin of The Emoji Movie, this animated sci-fi action comedy is described as a “love letter to Black families.”
Season 1 stars Laz Alonso, Yvonne Orji, Priah Ferguson, Yvette Nicole Brown, JeCobi Swain, Leslie Uggams, Rob Riggle, Jim Rash, and Jamie Chung. Leslie voices the grandmother of two children who discover their seemingly average joe dad is actually an intergalactic bounty hunter when they inadvertently stow away on his space ship.
All 10 episodes of Season 1 will be available for streaming on Netflix starting February 9. Episode 101 is currently uploaded onto YouTube and can be viewed for free here.
