Leslie Uggams will receive the esteemed Porchlight Music Theatre ICONS Award during a Gala brunch and ceremony on Sunday, Sept. 14 at the Ritz-Carlton in Chicago. During the event, Leslie will be interviewed on stage by WGN news analyst and theater aficionado Paul Lisnek. Notable performers from the Chicago area musical theater community will also sing a cavalcade of songs drawn from Leslie's iconic Broadway career.
Past ICONS Award recipients include Chita Rivera, Joel Grey, Ben Vereen, Donna McKechnie, and Raul Esparza. Also honored during the Gala will be Chicago philanthropists Brenda and James Grusecki.
